Note, I believe somewhere around Serial number ~2000-3000+ GReddy made hardware change, it seems the chip gets knocked off more often in the new version hardware...I own a unit in the 1000 Serial range, it got the old version...

I think that's a typo because later on in that page it says the newer style fixed the problem.
