I got home from work a little bit ago and would like to install the budget y-pipe a little later. How long would you guys wait to touch the exhaust area? Anyone know of a way to cool it down faster?

if you have a pool it would cool down pretty fast. depending on how long you had been driving, i'd say 2 hours ish?

this thread is REDICULOUS. C'mon man, go keep feeling it until it's bearable to work with. Why would anyone care how long it takes for their stock exhaust to cool? I bet your mom still makes your lunch too, doesn't she.

if you leave the car running, its much easier to work on it that way. cools it down alot faster cause there is air going through it basically. try it out, you seem like a smart dude i think you can figure it out.

Coast alot on the way home, open the hood and go watch a TV show or something. Doesn't take very long, but you cant exactly just stand there and wait. The engine will stay hot for a good while.

If u can dont drive it that day. if u doesnt open the hood and be sure u dont race the car going back home. Use something to not directly touch it the first time after you have waited 2-3h,if you wanna make sure its not burning.

If you're losening exhaust component nuts/bolts, it's best to do so while they're a bit warm. They typically break loose a bit easier.

But this is kind of a bad question to ask.
