What's the best way to connect two 4-gauge power wires?

I had to reroute my main power wire, but unfortunately, the power wire is now too short. I know the ideal thing would to buy a longer power wire to replace the old one but I don't wanna waste $.

If I go out and buy few feet of wire, what's the best way to connect them to get a good connection? I'm mainly worried about an obstruction of the electrical current if I use regular crimp connectors.

You could use a 4ga inline fuse holder. I'm not sure if they make the same connector without the fuse, that would be ideal for your purposes.

put 2 terminals on each end, put them together, put a screw and a nut on the other side and tightnen, wrap around w/ black tape...

Or. Solder them :P

OR! You could use a 4awg butt connecter and a little presser thing to crimp it... Personally I would just solder it I dont have patience to butt connect a wire that big, the 1st method would be effective too I think.

you can technically solder it, but no way in hell is that a good solid joint...u need to have solder on the inside strands, nit just the outside, and if u tried to do that u would have one hell of a cold solder joint, and ****ty resistance,
