Yeah, the vast majority of the work done to the car was maintenance. The only mods were the cattman y-pipe and painted wheels. I never really had the money to make her shine, just run all day. ;)

If you were trying to get a clutch that handles more power, then yes, I believe it's true. IIRC, the 5th gen 20AE pressure plate is sprung more heavily, which gives the clutch more power holding...

I think you have that backwards. Don't you want a 4th gen (or 5th gen) clutch disc with a 5th gen (20th Anniversary?) pressure plate?

I'm not sure if there is a definitive fix for this problem, but the hard shifts cause a lot of stress on the engine mounts. Replacing the front, and especially the rear, mounts will help somewhat.
