Broken pieces sitting in there or if its clogged up at all. On mine there is a metal mesh that surrounds the catalyst on the walls and it had come loose and was blocking flow.

I can see how that might be the case on a California spec because there is a O 2 sensor after the pre cats. on a federal spec car there are only 02 sensors before the pre cats and after the main cat...

I bought the Ypipe thinking it was clogged precats and when I got it apart the main one was all messed up. So now I need the main one. And junk yards can't sell them.

Need a 2000 main catalytic converter for a fed spec. I got a ypipe and found out the main is all messed up. So if any one has an OEM one in good shape that they can sell for $50-75 shipped range...

Fixed it, I had the front end up pretty high and my gas tank is pretty empty so once I dropped the car down it started up.
