its 2000-2001 after 2001 it was a 3.5 engine which I assume would also work for the transmission. Correct me if I am wrong

When you take out the grille. you can take out the emblem from the grille and spray the grille only, simple. Retrofitting is a good way to go for safety on the road for lights.
