Nissan touch-up paint... what's the holdup???

I ordered the touch up paint for my pearl white 2000 Max SE on Oct 2nd, 2010. The parts guy didn't have it and none of the local dealers had it, so it had to be special ordered and could take up to 2 weeks to get. He went on and on about how Nissan waits for a certain number of orders before they actually make a certain color. Of course after making phone calls every other week they say than it will be in on their next weeks shipment, and then I tell them how long I've been waiting, and their circle of excuses keeps coming up, as if they're reading it off a FAQ sheet they got posted on the wall somewhere. The newest excuse is that Nissan switched paint vendors and all their touch up paint orders are on backorder. And because the paint was made by a vendor and not Nissan themselves, he had no way to track my order or even tell me when I would be able to get it. He didn't even know who the new paint vendor was, or their phone number, or anything on how to figure out why I've been waiting over 3 months for my touch up paint. What should I do? Ask for a refund or store credit? Start e-mailing Nissan USA to see wtf is going on? I'm tired of getting the runaround and a little bit of honesty from their parts dept sure would be nice. Has anyone else had this problem waiting forever to get their touch up paint?

PM Dave B at courtesynissan.com. Considering nothings shipped yet, they should give you your money back.

www.paintscratch.com

You'll get the touch up in 3 days.

Why go to Nissan? They don't make paint...

They had paint there in stock, just not in my color. Must have been for the newer cars. Whether or not Nissan makes the paint, it comes in Nissan packaging and has a Nissan part number. Looks like I'll go and get my money back...

Go to a paint shop and have it matched. You'll get the right color and you'll get it quickly.

I was thinking the same thing. 10 year old paint probably not the same original color. Faded maybe? Paint matching seems like a good idea.

I work at a dealer, so I could do that... What I liked about the Nissan paint is that the paint pen is two sided. One side is the base white, the other side is the clear with the pearl flake mixed in with it.

Matching it might help... The previous owner kept it garaged alot, and I clay-barred, buffed and waxed it and it's still very shiny.
