depends on which generation you are talking about. 6th gens don't have much problem at all. 4th gens will rub if the tires are even a little too big. not much margin for error with the 4th gens.

im not too sure about 20 x 9. im running 20" x 8.5" on my 5.5th gen. im dropped on H-Techs. fronts rubbed with 245/35/20 so i switched to 225/35/20 tires up front. rears are 245/35/20 and only rub on dips, but i also have Alot of MDF in my trunk along w/ a 15" solo, box, and 2 amps.

Whats the offset and what size tires are you running?
they can be put on depending upon offset and tires size

20 x 10 35 offset? i was tryna run 19 x 9.5 w/ a +35 offset and i was told it wouldnt fit cause it would rub, and im running H-Techs. 1.6 front and 1.0 rear drop. did you roll your fenders or did you just not mod anything at all for it to fit?

for a 20x8.5 setup the best offset would be 45 with a 245 35 tire. i dont think that would require any cutting

I would go 225/30-20. That is about as close to stock wheel heght you are going to find. You are riding on rubberbands but it looks damn good especially on a low drop. If Wash DC wasnt pothole hell I would be on 225/30-19.
