Rally inspired Samsung SM5 (cefiro)

For those that don't know, it's been rehashed here a thousand times, but Nissan - under their Renault parents, partners with Samsung to produce a sister car to the Infiniti I30/35 (JDM Cefiro) called the Samsung SM5. Even the current generations are based off of the I35..

Anyway, not sure if this was posted before, but I just ran into this pic of a rally style Samsung SM5. It has the VQ25 in it (yes, 25) making about 173hp (see below).

It came from this page. Anyone speak Czech?
http://auta5p.car.cz/katalog/samsung/samsung_sm5_01.htm

From what I can make out on this page (http://auta5p.car.cz/katalog/samsung/samsung_sm5_02.htm), the regular SM5 is the same as the Maxima QX (mainly russia and the neatherlands if I recall correctly) and comes with either a 1.8l 4cyl, 2.0l V6, or a 2.5l V6 (called the SM518, 520, and 525 respectively ala BMW). It also looks like the SM518 makes 98kW which is about 130hp, with the SM520 making 107kW (143hp), and the SM525 like this rally one above making 129kW (173hp). It claims that the car only weighs about 3200lbs too.

.. Just thought it was interesting...

By the way, for those wondering about the Emblem in the grill...

It's kinda funky, and yes, the SM5 is manufactured in Korea.

that thing kinda looks like the Toyta Corrola type-S... anyone else see that?

i'm pretty sure the maxima QX thats avalable in europe (saw a bunch of them in russia last summer) is the same as the US I-30 & I-35 (depending on the year)

Maxima QX is a hybrid of US Maxima and I35. In russia, most of them are 3.0 grey import from EU.
Recently Nissan announced that they will be switching Russia to US market line and introducing Inifiniti brand as well as starting to offcilially sell Pathfinder, Murano and Z350. Untill now you can only get grey imports of those models from Germany...
One vehicle that I still wish would make it to us is a Nissan Patrol Diesel

I thought the VQ20 and VQ25 have been dropped and replaced with the VQ23. Maybe that was in the Japanese market.

Yeah had those back home (Nissan Safari AKA Nissan Patrol) and man I wish they had it here. Those things will blow away the landcruisers, escalades etc. Pure Performance!

This SM5 looks more like the TRD version of new Camry not Corolla.
