Mini Photo Shoot today! *pics*

Some interest had popped up in the off-topic forums about some of my photography work. I've been far too busy doing other stuff lately to get out and shoot, so it inspired me to get out there. Too bad I was too busy to get these into the calender competition. Here are a couple pics from my outing along the Big Sur coastline here in California. Arguably one of the most beautiful pieces of coastline in the world, but unfortunately today it was a bit overcast. Of the digital shots (with the car in them), here are some of the better ones:

Full size 2592x1944 images available. If people are interested, I'll post the links.

its mild enough the shouldnt bug him over it really. cops out here dont bust people for mild tint jobs much. mirror tint, colored tint, dark tint... can cause problems

Nice pics....

Is that background a part from the Goonies, where the holes in the skull matches up with those rocks?

Thanks for the comments guys!

- The camera used for these shots is a Canon Powershot G5.

- Yes, the second shot is my favorite of the set as well. Here is the full size image

- The wheel gap is not too bad with the Maxspeed springs. The shadows make it look worse than it is.

- The tint, as stated in my sig is 20% in the rear, 35% on the rear doors, and 50% on the front doors. Never had a problem with cops (knock on wood).

- The spot is Big Sur, California. It's about 3 hours south of San Francisco, about 30 minutes south of Monterey. It sits on Highway 1 which winds almost 100 miles along the massive cliffs at the coast line, more or less uninterrupted between Monterey and Morro Bay. In fact, as you leave the last real populated area, there is a sign that says curvey roads "next 72 miles." Must see spots in Big Sur are the River Inn, the Ventana Wilderness Resort and Spa, and Nepenthe.

Nepenthe is a restaurant, cafe, gift shop, etc that sits on a very high cliff which sticks out into the ocean. Caught a glimpse of some migrating whales, just before sunset today:

car looks great. some tire shine on the outside of the tires would help accent the gloss of the black paint. do you have plans to shave the rear end or leave it??

i cant believe how beautiful it is out there. I cant wait to finish college and move out the california. its always been my dream. i have lived in the chicago suburbs my whole life. but that will change after college.

great camera also, shots are super clear with little light reflection.

I am pretty sure I hate you, as NY is expecting another snowstorm this weekend.

Your ride is sharp.

Yeah, it rained the day before, and the car has not had a major wash in weeks (did a minor one a few days ago). Also had to drive an hour and a half to get to that spot. I deemed the car's clean level good enough to take pictures, but yeah, it had no tire shine and infact was reletively dirty. Just can't tell cuz it was overcast.

Funny you mention Chicago.. When I stopped for dinner and to watch the sunset, there was a group of doctors from some med school in Chicago who couldn't get over it (can't blame them ).

great scenery but you shot against the sun and the camera didn't pic up the lines of the car.

A) That's what happens when you shoot towards the coastline near sunset on the west coast.

B) I wasn't attempting to get the detailed "lines" of the car. If I was, I would have included the several dozen pictures I took where the car was more exposed and the background totally overexposed. But that would have been reletively pointless. Need a semi-happy medium. I have some shots I took on film with a 200mm lens on professional slide film. We'll see how those turn out.

Let's experiment, shall we?

Overexposed:
