How does a car run without an Intake Air Temp plugged in.
I searched and found lots of ppl trying to retorfit them onto aftermarket intakes, but I was mainly curious how it affects your performance? Does your car go into a somewhat detuned mode, or does it make a general assumption?
Thanks

So, is your plugged in or not?
If so, check for that code. You may have a malfunctioning sensor.
If not, plug it back in and see what happens.

Anyways, let's just say it's not hooked up at all, how is performance affected?

The value from the intake air temperature probe is used solely for diagnostic purposes by the ECU. It is not used in any way to adjust engine performance. If you unplug it, the engine will run exactly the same but the ECU will throw a code, that's it.
