Anyone had a scratch/ding airbrushed?
I got a flat tire today and Discount Tire Co (who usually is awesome with replacing tires and making sure not to scratch wheels) dropped a wheel on my rear bumper (twice) in two spots. I don't know what happened but you could clearly see the two blemishes, scratches that were caused from the imprint of the rim. You could also see some of the armor-all like tire cleaner I had on my tires around where the blemishes were.
Of course they denied it at first, but when I said, C'mon this car is otherwise perfect, and that I was willing to measure the angle of the circumference of the marks they decided to "pay for it". They said they have a guy who can airbrush it out. Now I have considered getting airbrushing before but that was when I was paying for it and it was for much less obvious areas and much smaller. They've been real good to me before with hooking me up with free-flat repairs even though I didn't buy the tires there, etc. I told him, normally I wouldn't want airbrush but I guess since you guys have been cool and the car is a lease I'll go the airbrush route. What do you guys know about airbrushing scratches? This is going to require buffing too as the scratch has left a flair of urethane or whatever material the bumper is made of.
I told him I'd want a decent warranty with the service against fading and stuff like that. Are there any reasons I shouldn't just let them airbrush it? If I was rear-ended and stuff I'd go for a full on repair, but again these guys are cool, I don't want to make this a big deal with getting quotes and possible going to court.
Thanks for the input.
