00VI Needed for Prototype Spacer Kit

I need one volunteer to allow use of their spare 00VI upper, lower, EGR, and finally TB components for one week to get calculations. The calculations will be documented and the parts will be sent back unmodified so that we make the proper adjustments needed to make the DE spacer kit work on a DE-K. The parts will be sent out to NWP which I would assume is fronting the shipping on this and then will be sending it back in a weeks time when all tasks are complete.

Thanks

'Plastic' is a general term.

Phenolic, it.

Phenolic > Plastic, WRT heat soak/reduction.

Gtr rider, aaron's down here in florida right? If you can guarantee me that it won't be damaged in shipping to NWP, I'll let you use mine-however it's not a spare and getting another one locally is difficult most yards sell the whole motor, I'm just holding off on the install till my cheap **** gets a wideband.

I have it in pieces to clean it- you need the tb, vim, lim, 4 bolts for lim and egr tube correct?

Aaron is out of NC now so the parts would need to be shipped out on him. Parts needed are TB, LIM, UIM, EGR, bolts to secure UIM to LIM and EGR to UIM and lastly TB to UIM bolts.

Let me know what you can do

Yes. I have already completed everything I needed to do and the parts have been sent back to the owner. Thank you for everyone's support.

A hardware kit is currently being developed to allow the installation of the 95-99 Maxima Thermal Intake Spacer Kit on the 00-01 VQ30DEK Maxima.

Still under development. It will probably be about a month before we are able to test fit everything. But we hope to have the hardware kit in stock within the next few weeks.

Soo, is there any gains or is it basically going to be like the 4th gen kit? I haven't done any engine mods.. so this might be my first!

With the 4th gen kit, there are very significant HP and temperature gains. Even though the VQ30DEK 00-01 Maxima has a resin composite manifold, thermal insulation will still be of benefit. But the biggest gain will be from the port matched spacers which lengthen the intake runners and provide a low end and midrange power increase, as well as the huge decrease in temperature of the lower intake manifold (40 degree reduction).

So once the 00-01 hardware kit is developed for this 4th gen kit, we will test everything for fitment on the engine and then make it available to order.

I already have the 00-01 hardware kit designed. I'm just sourcing out all the parts. Some of the pieces may need to be custom machined.

But just to clarify, there is not going to be a kit specifically designed for the 00-01 Maxima. This is just a hardware kit that will allow you to install the 4th gen spacer kit on the 00-01 Maxima. The ports still line up perfectly, which is the most important aspect.

Hey Aaron92se, I hope your are doing well, as you may know I'm currently building my VQ30DEK engine and I'm very interested in the 5th gen kit. Because I have done a PP job on the heads, lim & uim I will need to port match the spacer just like I would or will with the standard gasket, do you see any problem with the port matching ?

sooo DEK ppls will just buy the 4th gen kit with 5th gen hardware eh? Will you be able to "seperate" kits or do 5th gen ppl have to buy the whole 4th gen kit? I'd want upper and lower spacers....but 4th gen TB spacer wouldn't fit 5th gen TB.

any dyno results for a DEK yet?

Sorry for the late reply. I don't know how I missed this post.

Our Thermal Intake Spacers can be ported with a high grit sand paper cartridge roll. But, be sure not to breath in the dust when porting. This warning is also found on the installation instructions.

Yes, the 4th gen TB Spacer will not fit. We are hoping to keep the overall price the same as the 4th gen kit since the TB Spacer will not be included, but you will need the hardware kit to install it.

Some of the pieces for the EGR extension kit had to be custom machined. I should have my hands on the prototypes by this Monday. If everything looks ok, which I'm sure it will, I will immediately have it test fitted on a 2000 VQ30DEK Maxima. Then only after fitment is tested, the kit will be released for sale. Depending on how testing goes, everything may be available within the next 3 weeks.

That's a good news, that would be great to have the spacer in time before my engine get assembled. Good works.
