Hey guys just picked up a 2000 thats already modded a bit. d2 coilovers, intake and other stuff. Found the radiator support was rot so i cut out the rust and welded in some fresh metal... car feels much better now. Has a stillen strut tower brace and sway bars. Also got a set of 350z wheels for it but debating putting them on. Tomm i will post abunch of pics so you guys can help me determine whats already been done to the car and im looking to learn these things inside and out. My first import... ive had jeeps and chevys before but this things fun so far.

I'm looking into an oil leak tomm at the shop i think its coming from the seal for the crank shaft on the pulley side? are these a pita to replace?

I'd also like to know what wheels are on the car now and the width of them? The 350z wheels are 17x8 and 8.5 they're staggered. Just wondering if theyre going to be a problem running as the cars so low. I was able to lift it about 3/4 of an inch but thats as far as i could move the locknuts on the front driver coil over so thats all i can get. The front coilovers have no preload on the springs and i was using a punch and pb blaster to get the nuts to spin started destroying the tabs so i gave up. The other 3 freed up fine but the driver front screwed me, maybe i can buy just one new coilover somewhere?

if the coilover collars are extremely stuck, this is what you gotta do. take the coilover out of the car clean the threads with a wire wheel extremely well, then PB blast around the collars, then use a vice grip to hold the coilover and grab a huge monkey wrench and grab the collar only as tight as possible and turn it with all your weight. after thats loose you can determine if you need a new collar ($25 each from D2) or it might still be usable. remove all collars clean all threads with a wire wheel, put anti-seize on all the threads and assemble everything back up

You can buy the collars off the site and take them off and put them in a vice and loosen them then clean and antisieze the threads

If they were 350z wheels they would stick out more cause of the +30 offset.

Mine do

And yeah i can work on cars i know the domestics inside and out but i'm new to these. I'm also a machinery technician in the coast guard... turn wrenches all day for work and fun. Only working on a 18 cylinder alco diesel and all the cat diesels is a little different lol
