I have no reverse, threw up 2 codes. Help much?

Okay, so I will try to keep this brief. In Walmart parking lot to discover that I have no reverse, yea figure that. I was able to go forward instead. It looks like everything engages (reverse lights come on, car does the slight jutter when put into reverse) but when I give it gas, nothing. And it stops revving at around 2000 rpms. Also, when I put it in 1 (Auto tranny), it barely moves. It also feels like, from a dead stop, that the car starts in 2nd. My SES light came on, so, not having a checker thing, I did the self diagnostics test and it showed 2 codes, p0732 and p0507. I researched and saw that p0507 is Idle Speed Control System RPM Higher than Expected. I can't seem to find anything on the p0732 code, though. The car idles at around 500-600 RPMS, which if I am right, is about normal. What in the hell could be the problem? I seen some people are doing a ECU flash or Idle Air relearn thing. Is this something I should try? Also, before all these problems happened, at a cold start driving down the road the tranny would go nuts. Any help guys?

P0732 says the the transmission did not shift into 2nd gear. The cause is a mechanical problem not and electrical one.

Have you checked the oil level in the transmission? Is the oil red or is it brown? Does it smell burned? You should take the car to a transmission shop and have them check it.

Yes, I checked it yesterday and it does appear to be brown. I am hoping it has something to do with the, maybe a cheap, quick fix?

The oil pan should be removed and inspected for metal shavings and other things that shouldn't be there. I hate to say this but with no reverse gear and slow movement in first, I don't think this will be a simple fix.

Sad face. Okay well I will see what I can do I guess. I hope I can push it back so I can get it out of the driveway, lol. No reverse sucks.

I went thru the same thing with my 00 earlier this year it did this same thing several times and each time it would just pop back and act right i never got a code tho eventually it just stayed that way and never changed i even tried replacing the valve body with no change, in the end i ended up buying another trans.

I actually have this going on with my brothers 2000 gle auto. After a drain and refill on the tranny. He put it in reverse nothing. Turned out, his tranny has metal chips in the pan and 60 of his tranny is gone. Getting it rebuilt at the moment for 2850. And actually they said his tranny pump blew and thats what caused reverse to go.
