For the 3.5 engine? Two. But, depending on your expectations and where you want your power to come on, maybe just one big one.

On a more serious note: Depends on your intentions. If its going to be a daily or driver a twin turbo setup will not be ideal due to lack of traction, a single turbo would be better for higher rpm power. If its going to be a track or drag car then a twin turbo would be great.

Pick a number, add 2, multiply by 3, subtract 6, divide by 3 then subtract it by your original number.

You have found the # of fcks we give about half-wit threads.

Forget turbos you just needs nawz. Make sure to get 2 bottles and be careful because it has been known to blow your diamond plated floor pans out if you try to use too much. So make sure you get overnighted parts from Japan to keep this from happening.

In all honesty, that would be a bad @ss setup if it werent such a difficult one.
Small turbo for quick spooling low end boost and the SCer for the top end= always in boost! YAY.

remember we all were not born with know how and mechanical genius, give a hand, point in the right direction and then if it really seems to be someone with "SPECIAL NEEDS"...well .....but you see he just joined, maybe just bought the vehicle, and hasn't learned about GOOGLE SEARCH....or simply SEARCHING THE FORUM...jumping on all the new guys will not allow the site to grow and will end up just being a chat group amongst friends

It's quite easy to learn, I wasn't spoonfed, spent years on forums reading and learning and I got to put my knowledge to the test when I brought my first 4th gen.

People need to stop and realize that owning a Maxima does not mean you need to concentrate your research solely to the .org, you notice how a lot of guys w/ the "Better" cars on this forum owned other nice vehicles too??? Not saying this is always true but it's a fact that can't be ignored, ask a lot of people who's cars you admire on this site ask them about their previous vehicles, you'll get an idea that you don't learn very much from the .org, most learning occurs outside in your garage, or on better forums

I thought it was the other way around...S/C for low-end and Turbo for high-end power.

Don't sway OP in the wrong direction!

Very true which goes back to my question of age, I see alot of "teens" on the org and may be the cause of the questions and the assumption it may be their first ride and never grew wanting to learn about fixing or modding a vehicle until they got one. For some its in the blood for others its in the moment.

Wait.... This could be the new Ghustler thread!!!!!

Fine, spoonfeed me then!

On a compound boost setup how would you bypass one or the other?? I know for S/C Turbo setups the S/C can only flow so much air.... Aren't there clutch operated S/C's so when a turbo kicks in and blows more air than the S/C can pump out the clutch kicks out and the fan just spins????? Sorta like how clutch fans work on RWD vehicles??

I post this knowing full well a google search can answer this in a few minutes.... I wanna be lazy like everyone else now

my point exactly as i subliminally put it in my previous post........ simple google search or search the forum, you may not get it exactly answered but 1+1 always equals 2......not saying spoon feed maybe ignore and they'll find their way, just dont want "newbies" to not want to join here as there is alot of negativity about this site growing on other forums and there are alot of you with alot of knowledge and gifts here and all help you guys provide is appreciated, after someone has GOOGLE SEARCHED and CHECKED THE FORUMS....in other words I've been saying the same **** as you just not so direct

At one point in time, we were all newbies... I was afraid to post on Acurazine because of threads like this... until I had legitimate questions that could not be answered by searching.

Here... There's no fear.... Igits post away.....

Yes I think that's the idea...a clutch would 'neutralize' the s/c so it wasn't acting as a bottleneck.

Search newb!
