Mirror Tint vs. Black Tint
#2
i like mine
i went with really light mirror tint
it reflects the sun better(cars gets less h0t) and isnt dakr at all when driving at night
it also depends what color car you have, as mirrored tint can look ricey on specific colors

I would check local laws before applying mirror tints. I know in my state, cops hate cars with mirror tint. They make people remove these tints more than the other tints. I personally, am not a fan of mirror tints. I like more of the darker shades like 20% and darker. Me, too, mirror tints look too "ricey" on a car.

Lighter colors look better with mirror tints.
On darker colors mirror tints sort of conflict with the whole dark appeal.
If your car is light colored get some light mirrored tints if you'd like and put the tint stickers on the windows and keep the papers so you dont get ****.
*edit......see how ricey and conflicting this integra looks with mirror tints
versus this clean looking lighter colored millenia(i think)

yup plantinum is the way to go, i see way better at night cause it is not SUPER dark, but it give enough coverage during the day and changes how much you can see inside at different angels...i like it ...other than that black for sure...none of the REALLY mirror like stuff, not good for you or cops eyes...

i like mirror because
1. it reflects sunlight back as oppose to just blocking it
2. u dont lose visibility at night
3. following the same idea as #1 should help reflect blinding headlights from outside
i agree too strong a mirror tint could look bad on dark cars. i find it interesting how Lexus suvs r the only cars i c stock mirror tinting on... everyone else (suvs and vans) all have black tint.
very interested in "platinum" now... How is it different from mirror?

http://maxima.crimsonshift.com/, hit the link for tint. dark cars definetely look best with black film, and silver/gray are awsome with mirror or semi-reflective film.

Not a huge fan of mirror tint. And, like people have said, it attracts cops like a bad accident. I went with Platinum Plus. It's reflective like mirror, but you can still see through it.

It's Llumar Platinum Plus on my '00. I like it because of the reflectivity (semi-metallic film), as this rejects more heat than standard films do. Llumar comparison page. My film is the PP18 here.
I'll definitely second this!
Llumar FTW!

I have a Pearl White Max with a blond cloth interior and this is what my tint setup is like...
Originally 35% Platinum tint all around except the front windshield...
This looked nicer when the temperature inside the car dropped as these tints look more solid and its almost impossible to see the inside unless you walk up to the car and look inside.
After two years with the above setup I decided to make them darker, so I had 50% black tints put on the front windows and 35% black on the back windows on top of the original 35% platinum tints... I love this setup!
The back windows are really dark now! The front windows are a lil darker than the original 35%'s. If you wanna see pics PM me with ur email...
If you have a dark interior you wont have to get dark tints to get that dark look!
I wish I could have 5% all around! but nah.. not worth the trouble...

have a light interior
value functionality more than looks in this case
llumar platinum plus would be ideal
only considering 35% all around including sunroof, no lighter no darker

the fact that its not "normally chosen" makes it more appealing 2 me
but clearly dark tint is the overwhelming fav - as expected
