Look what my roomate did to his headlights...(teaser pic)

My roomates current project:
2k2 headlights + ECE D2S Valeo Projector with a DOT shield =

He has only finished one side so far, hopefully gonna start cutting the driver side soon. This is the only picture so far and sorry for the quality and the dirty car, cell phone camera. Beam pattern looks good, only problem so far is that the dust cap wont fit over the back of the headlight and the back of the projector is almost hitting the washer fluid filler. Its not perfect up close but looks fine from 3 feet.

hmmm.....reminds me of "Terminator" for some reason Not feelin it personally, but at least he's trying something new. Maybe they'll look better with better pics.....

what I'd really like to see is someone refit a single projector (low beam) and a standard halogen (non-projector) high beam into the OEM 2000-2001 headlight!

Should put some halogen projectors in the high beam housing to finish off the look. I was looking into this project but I cant afford it and live in NY.

might have some potential, but I dont know, i aint feelin the way it looks, think he needs a better looking bezel & shroud around the projector, to clean it up.

he's obviously not going for looks with that setup. i don't see too many people trying this unless light output is drastically improved over the stock HID and the housing is more tasteful.

Its a great attempt at creativity.... I just think it looks a little out of place.... I'm sure he could come up with something to make it stand out less....

Does he know that replacement headlights are like 1400 bucks? I was worried enough doing the clear blinkers. I'm not feelin' the projector. Maybe if it was big enough to fill the space. It looks like it got busted out and that's a temporary or something.

Shoulda sold the 2k2 headlights and bought the ebay projectors and retroffited the valeos from HIDforum.com The light output from valeos are very nice and they have that cool flickering. Nice attempt though.

Well seems like no one likes this retro....hmmm. He did use a shroud in the headlight. The E46 XENON shroud was used but he painted it black so its kinda hard to see. Thats the only pic he has for now, more will come when he finishes.

I think you should tint the glass in front of the light red to get the true terminator look and then start shooting everyone you see while talking in a wierd accent.

Should have left the shroud chrome or silver, OR, there should be a shroud that sits flush with the projector up to the old reflectors.

I don't get why everyone seems to not like it? I think it looks goode, and if successful, the output and beam pattern will be awesome.

I think it looks good, but it will look BETTER if the high beams have projectors and the shroud goes all around the projector.

I agree that the output will be good... but I think I'd like it more if it was prettied up a lil more... looks too raw for my liking....

hidtech.com said the Q45 hid would not fit into our housing. There wouldn't be any room for aiming the projector.

But it would look nice

i think it's unique looking... I think they look pretty damn good. One suggetion though,

since the DDE is now too large a ring, i'd lose that ring, and maybe try enclose that projector or make it appear more flush.

I am VERY interested in seeing this...I've been thinking about the same thing for a while now...how are you going to get around the ridged lens cover on the side marker, though?

So you're planning on having a twin-lens light in the 00 housing then (one standard and one projector)?

Really appreciate this comment. Its newbies like you that make the org what it is today. Pretty damn sad, this is why I don't post much anymore because of this type of BS.

Sorry to go ot there.... More pics will be posted as soon as they are finished.

Haha...Arron isn't some young punk that has mommy buy his mods, ie profile says "Occupation: Missile Flight Engineer" and he lives in my neighborhood, which aint the ghetto.

Lay off, he's just mad his VIAS wasn't working and the .org had to tell him what's wrong/how to fix it, so he's picking on headlights. I'll take him for a ride and show him what he's missing.

Looks pretty good, but as mentioned earlier, I wouldnt have cut up the stock headlights, they are really really expensive...

They have aftermarket headlights w/ projectors on eBay, they look really good and arent all that expensive:
