need Motor mounts again. Best way to go besides ebay?

I will never do that again. Bought brand new mounts off ebay. From one of those car auto places. Never will make that stupid mistake again. I should of realized that 4 mounts for $130 bucks was too good to be true. Within like 6 months they went and I been driving with them for about a year and a half and really the massive clunking is driving me up the wall and when you drive 5 speed it is even worse.

So what should I do? I don't have a ton of money to get OEM nissan ones. Any help would be great. I personally don't have the access to be able to cut the old ones out and fill them with poly nor the time to spend the 2 days to do so. So if anyone know another way. Can I just buy the poly mounts? I will do it.

there are ways to do it. Replace them with polyurethane ones and that will solve your problem 4 ever. But you need to have the time, not an option for what I read. Im in the same position as you, but I bought new OEM ones, now they are all bad again, will keep on driving with them like that for a long long time. No money to replace them all again nor the time

I heard that ES makes the mounts without the metal bracket. You just gotta buy them and press them in with a press after you blow out. Or burn out the old rubber from the other metal brackets. I could do that, but wow. You bought OEM ones and they went bad on you too? I felt like my OEM ones were in way better condition than the Ebay ones I put in to replace them! lol

Now I am wondering if these are legit or not. Since it is from Summit and all. That place is like Harbor Fright Chinese garbage 95% of the time

Here we go, so those ones could be legit since its the same price. I think I found them. Now I wonder how hard the job is lol. I would hope I could just burn out the old ones with a torch. Man it would be super convenient if they sold the metal bracket with it lol

energy suspension is the way to go, but its better is you get another cross member and actually do the job in that one, that way yo don't need to stop the car while doing the swap. the job is a pain there are ton of write-ups here..

Well, it's only been 6 months, but I've had no issues with my $110 ebay motor mounts (all 4).

The job itself is not for the inexperienced

That is funny, cause I had them for 6 months before they went. Maybe you had better ebay ones? I bought mine off that autowarehouse guy on ebay. Not ALL ebay mounts are the same exact mount. And fyi, I am not inexperienced.

Buy the energy suspension poly mounts (2 lower mounts). You can burn the old mounts out or use an air hammer to collapse and press/hit them out. Those should last the lifetime of the car. As for the side mounts, your on your own.

I also had ebay ones on my old car and they lasted for over a year and a half with no issues. I paid 94.95 for them

There was a guy from CT who was selling mounts with ES bushings installed in them already in classifieds.

I am ok about a little vibration. Now about the side ones. I am sure those won't matter. The only thing I am really worrying about is my Rad support has a good bubble in it. I don't want the engine mounts being stiffer causing more force on the rad support but hey, there probably is enough tq being put on them anyway but the motor at a higher point.

Surprised you guys made it that long. I ordered them from ebay and mine literally failed 2 days in.

S1cTech mine have a 5 year warranty supposedly, if you want try contacting the seller. Or you can buy Energy Suspension Bushings or Poly fill them yourself.

Yeah but polyfill costs around $25 where as ES is around $80 plus more to have the bushings pressed in.

But then again consider your car will be down for a week, because that's how long it takes for the polyfill to cure.

and how much of a PITA it is too do the polyfill and do it right. It isn't worth all the headaches. I just bought the ES mounts from Autozone. They actually had them, but I have to wait 2 days I guess and I ordered them yesterday. The guy told me to pick them up today and but I guess that wasn't the case when I went down there.

End of all autozone sucks, if a shop needed a part from say NY, they would be down there INSTANTLY and deliver it, but a customer... lol Nope.

btw. I was wondering one thing. My tranni mount is trashed too. Would my Poly's hold up? Or will they get damaged from all that extra stress down the road? I would hope they can hold all that tranni weight too.

here is the thread, guy's name is Jeremy, extremely cool guy
If you were closer, I could give you a hand with that.
OR if you want, I have a spare set of mount already on crossmember and I could press them in for you. Just shipping might kill it

Well the thing with autozone is that they dont stock the bushings in store. They have to be ordered in.

Youre telling me hat they said 2 days and when you went in after 2 days they didnt have it? Sucks, but so does life, you'll live until they have em in stock for you eventually.

I see OP already got ES, but to anyone else reading this is what I would do myself. Get a used set from the wrecking yard and fill them. Probably get set up for $50.00 total and no down time.

I wish Ny had some wrecking yards. Practically none in NYC and none within an hours range from where I am upstate
