rackin my brains out

i need a guru of long term simplicity, i have a fully loaded 98 max and i was wanting to just do a all bolt on motor for a lil speed and daily driving. i been looking for a mevi even though EVERYONE says the 00vi is better but i want a lil different and ive considered a 3.5 swap but thats on the back burner cause i have a baby due anytime now in a week and a halve and its hard finding a good decent motor and the only person close enough to dallas to drop it in lives in austin i cant win for loosing. im bout to say f$@ck it and buy a 5th gen 6speed but theres a bunch of things thats kinda effy goin that route and i love my 4th gen. i need a opinion of a good way to go.

If you want a few bolt ons, cai, and y pipe. That's your best bang for the buck. 00vi and mevi are a lot more labor intensive.

there are a ton of things one can do to a car, 5th gen is a different beast from the 4th gen IMO.

Comparing my old 4th gen, it felt alot more sportier than my 5th gens. Something about the 4th gen that I've always loved. It's truely a sports sedan. I say, put some bolt ons and carry on, when you get tired of it, sell it and buy a 5th gen. Do all over again.

I am new to these cars as well, but when I was doing research, the newer gens kept getting heavier and heavier so the extra power wasn't even terribly noticeable. The real benefit is dropping that power into the lighter 4th gen.

4th gen FTW. Classic lines that the 5th gen just cant replicate. supercharge a VQ30 and you can beat most anything out on the road short of the obvious
