I know that this shop is terrible, but no one else had done it. It had always been with 2 doors, or something else crazy. So I just deleted the roof/pillars and took another convertible 4 door picture and took its interior.

Very true about them looking funny, toyota has one and its not too bad, but nothing great, and doesn't nissan have a convertible murano ?

Regardless, this would be the ULTIMATE Hood looking/goon/gangster/badass car. The only down side is that the safety and stability is NO MO

So...if someone had the money to go out, buy a 4th gen (They'd need a garage to keep it dry ) and just cut off the top, would that pass on any insurance? I mean it sounds insane but its really not THAT far out, the actual process that is. I don't mean making it a convertible, but a BS roofless whip. Just cover up the paint marks with some plasti dip

Tell me what would need to be done (I am sure this is off)

Big *** Saws all or some **** and then remove the rest of the roof....but what would you do to stabilize that windshield? Would it hold or would it fold in the wind? Would you need to weld/fabricate some safe areas by the open metal.

OK, now I have another issue with this. Normally I wouldn't care about appearance if I did this, I mean sure I'd want the paint to be relatively clean and the body to look nice, think of that car without the rims, lips, and drop....it would look goofy but it wouldn't need to be perfect. Anyways, what I'm getting at is although appearance isn't a huge priority, think about the safety. Getting a roll bar installed/welded in should be no problem, but what about seatbelts! Shown in the picture there would be no pillars there where the seatbelt would be tucked in place. How would one go about relocating a seatbelt harness?

I don't think it looks bad. I think for stability you would need to brace it for safety.

You would have to channel the chassis and weld in boxed frame rails. Otherwise the chassis would sag till the doors stop closing and eventually drag the belly.

So if this were accomplished, I am guessing you would need a custom top that would roll in-n-out? You know for when it rains and the times you don't want the outside elements messing with your interior...LOL

I guess real question is removable hard top or soft top??????
