big LOL. many europeans can't tell an a32 from a b14

http://forum.pulsar.org.au/showthrea...urious-Q/page2

an old old thread i discovered. These guys spend 2 pages wondering what kinda car vince drives.

"its a blue neon of course"
"no its an SR20DET bluebird"
"its definitely america's version of the pulsar AWD"
"yup. it is in fact a blue sentra"
"no, i heard some americans saying it was a maxima"
"nah, it can't be a maxima, its not wide enough"

I wonder if they'd still get confused if they were confronted with it now. this thread was made 2 years after F&F. but they really should know better. its one of those thread you wish you could jump in and have your say. many europeans think americans are ignorant and don't search. we know more about their cars then they do ours. LOL a quick google woulda solved this for them.

end of rant. sigh.

It sucks that membership is not given automatically. I would have bumped that old thread and I would have said it to their faces.

Wow, so it appears that our vaunted, prided maxima does not enjoy
the same recognition across the ocean.

well europe has always had a bigger/better batch of crayons to color with anyway.

the pulsar would have been awesome here. its like a golf Gti thats not a complicated mexican piece of crusty dorito bull****. and hatchbacks never go out of style. they will always be far too usefull.

and if nissan did release the leopard here for instance, i can atleast say i'd be driving one of those instead. (comparing sedan to sedan). FR turbo VQ30, nobody would buy maximas except grandma.

EDIT: DOH!! infiniti J30 = Leopard >_<... FR VG30. noooo, maybe i meant the cedric or gloria.

They did release the Leopard in the US. It's called the Infiniti j30.

Well, they might be stupid because they do not recognize US model cars they do not have. I wonder how many "stupid" people are there in the US that do not recognize some European cars

that holds very little water, especially since we, as car enthusiasts of the US (Always having the short end of the stick in whats available globally) more often than not (and i mean OFTEN) look at what europe/japan has all the time in comparison to ourselves. being that we want what they have since they have so much more available to them (turboed everything, "R" trim of everything etc)

being that your new, i'll just say, no its not. Cefiro's are exactly what the I30 JDM counterpart is. its front wheel drive just like the rest of us. Maxima/I30/Cefiro are all the same car. same VQ30DE here and japan. no option of a turbo anywhere. now older (and i mean WAY older) nissan cars from the mid 80s and earlier were all rwd. and i believe the RB powered cefiro was too (but its closest relative is the A31, which isn't the same same at all) but thats besides the point. the nissan laurel (also similar to the I30) has an RB25 and is rwd but still not an A32. wouldn't mind that either.

I meant exactly what i said i meant. I'd get a cedric/gloria over the Maxima if we (the USA) had them. because they ARE rwd with turbocharged VQs. We do have Q45s (Cima) its rwd but a non-turbo V8, and only japan gave it a VQ option like the cedric and gloria.

the theme here is performance oriented executive sedans, which is why i bought a maxima. but only because its one-off from what i'd really love.

i mean i'd get an IS350 but i can't stand the cheap looking tails and plastic headlights

my bad, confused both of them... are cima and president the same car? they look reaaally similar.

cheap looking tails on an is350? the old is300 rear lights are ricer imo but not the is350's
either way i'd get a gs300 or scc300 over the is350 and swap a 5 or 6spd and complete it like a turbo supra. or get an g35 6mt sedan with the -HR engine

i only wish nissan offered a manual with the new maxima. i would buy it after finishing school -_-. cvt is bull**** and super gay. that **** belongs in scooters and econo cars!

DSG will do the same as well...

don't care... i want to row my own. rev match downshifting yourself is awesome. plus any car with auto and exhaust sounds weak under load and between shifts imo. that lame sliding into the next gear sound sucks instead of a crisp manual shift.

i'll take a dsg before i take a rubber banded cvt tranny lol imagine a quarter mile run if there wasn't a manual mode for the cvt... it would sound "stuck" at like 5000 or so rpm lol

[QUOTE=Cielo;8435052]that holds very little water, especially since we, as car enthusiasts of the US (Always having the short end of the stick in whats available globally) more often than not (and i mean OFTEN) look at what europe/japan has all the time in comparison to ourselves. being that we want what they have since they have so much more available to them (turboed everything, "R" trim of everything etc)

That was exactly my point. If Europe always gets the nice turbo cars with "R" trim they may not care that much for the US Maxima model. Therefore they got the car confused. You know how often you see a Maxima on the street in US, but do you know how often people in Europe see a Maxima on their streets?
