To sell or not to sell..

well its come to the point where my 97 I30 has left me with three options.. when recently driving i noticed my second gear was either non existant or took to long to engage and when i checked the CEL it had the code for torque converter circuit blah blah.. so after i did some reasearch it came down to a tsb for the solenoids. so now that i know whats wrong i have no clue where to start. its still driveable just no second gear. so should i sell and or trade it with some cash on my end? or keep it and fix by getting another auto tranny with a larger cooler and shift kit or go all out and do the 5 speed swap? any advice or opinions is welcomed!

Auto trans swap is so easy a caveman could do it but I agree with Chris if you can.

yes all work would be done by me and my dad at our shop, tools, lifts, all that is needed to make life bearable in a mechanics job i have access to. And yea putting another auto is a walk in the park, although i know some people incapable of even doing that haha. i do know there is alot of mechanical part to doing the 5spd swap, and probably just a few electrical things like park neutral safety switch and the reverse lights. is there anything else i need to know before diving into this? thanks guys
