Nice man. Those gains are pretty good for a stock car. Thanks for posting.

That's why AEM created the Air Bypass Valve to prevent hydro-lock.

If anyone needs one, I have one for sale, brand new.

im sure the major exhaust leak due to the rear header being finger tight had something to do with that also (thats why the 5 gas reads super rich)

but what i dont get is the vq30 has 190 hp and 205 tq at the flywheel right? then why did i lose so much through the powertrain? is it cause its auto??

What gear did you run the dyno in? You should really get that header tightened up if you havent already.

Miles on motor, heat, affect the numbers a lot. with a 4th gen auto the dyno should be ran in 3rd gear (1:1) gear, I understand its hard to do with the tranny shifting. My 98 used to be auto, now im 5spd swapped, its a whole different animal.

I got 200+ on mine too, ever since the manual swap its starting to burn oil (but ive been driving her like a **** (motorwise). Shes seeing more redline in the last 10k or so then she ever did. VQ still runs strong though, love it.

hybrid/SRI

This is what im talking about ... very old post from "noobs read first" lol - anyone make anymore?

Hybrid/ Short Ram A hybrid intake uses a cone filter with a MAF adapter and replaces the stock intake resonator with a smooth tube. Upper RPM gains are as good as better than a Pop charger and there is little or no low end power loss. This seems to be the most popular intake among board members at the moment. You can buy a hybrid setup from Frankencar Performance or buy the upper tube of a CAI from Place Racing or Warpspeed and piece together your own. There are also hybrid type setups available on Ebay, as above most come with a cheap filter that I would recommend replacing with a K&N

I just put in a short ram, and i haven't noticed very much change in performance. It does sound awesome though. I'm glad i did it.
