95-96 SMOKED tails
Hey, I just finished giving my clear bumper lights amber tint, and it came out great, ill be doing my clear corners next. Ive also bought stock tails to replace the altezzas the previous owner put on. I was thinking about lightly smoking my 96 tails, not completely tinting them black, but enough to give it a kinda dark look, but with red/white/amber still showing through. Anyone got any pics of 95-96 tails like this?
Examples of what im looking for:

Example of what im NOT looking for:

The tint on this Maxima is way too dark, I want some of the original colors to still show through.

Im gonna do it myself, it isnt hard, I just want to see if anyone has pics of 95-96 smoked tails, not completely tinted black. 97-99 is acceptable to I guess. I saw a pic of Mr****s95SE, and I like the was his stock tails look on his black max, and mine is black as well, so I wanna see pics of some smoked tails so I can make a decision. I havent been able to find any.

Trying to do the same thing , man. I talked to my next door nieghbor which is a tint guy. He says its really hard to tint taillight due to the curves and etc. But keep in mind i live in a small town. Someone who lives in a bigger city may have better skills , lol. Anyways i was told to pic up some stuff from my local parts store. From what i gathered it is like a paint on tint. They say if your looking for a light finish, apply a light coat or a heavier coat for darker apps. Does it work ? Not sure. Ill try this weekend and let you know.

Isn't that what NiteShades is for. Put on one coat, wait 15 minutes, spray another. Wait for a day or two for the color to settle, decide if it's dark enough or you want darker. When done, apply a few coats of clear.

i used Niteshades on my eBay red clear tails, only on the clear part. you can still see the clear lenses thru it, its not totally blacked out. here is how it looked. sorry, all i got are iPhone pics:
this is probably only half of what you are looking for since i only tinted the clear part but i hope it helps

i used the nite shades as well but mine turned out to be fully blacked out..id go to the tint shops in your area and get them to fit you up some film to cover your lights...i might do the same to mine in the future because the sprays are uneven (one tail light is darker than the other when the signals are lit)

yea i put on a 97-99 rear bumper because i liked that rear lip a lot better. BTW i put about 2 1/2 coats on my tails. the first coat i applied was very light

is that brake led strip functional? did it come like that or what?

it had to be a business because the person was selling the lip for different cars. also each one had the option of just the lip or the lip with the LED brake light. i don't remember who i bought it from because i bought it like this time last year. just do a search and see what you come up with
