Maxima R34 Type Dual Reflector Headlights INSTALLED

The moment you've all been waiting for!

Headlights are 9006 low beam and 9005 high beam. They come pre-wired with an adapter to change our 9004 connector into a seperate low/high setup. All you do is plug in the connector and you're good to go. The headlights even come with new bulbs.

To bolt in the headlight, they included a small bracket that bolts into the 2 mounting holes on the outer side of the headlight/corner area. The new headlight then bolts into the bracket. The other two mounting points on the inner part of the headlight slip right into the stock mounting holes.

As far as fitment goes, it sits flush with the fenders, body and grill. And they do "bolt right in", HOWEVER, they do not fit perfectly. The mounting points were a little bit off and I had to cut away some of the plastic in order for the grill to fit. Not hard, you just need 30 seconds and a razor knife or drill of some sort. You need to enlarge these two plastic mounting holes. You'll know what I mean when you try to bolt on your grill (it won't really fit that well).

Disclaimer: I apologize for the low quality of the pictures but my new 8mp digital camera I bought from newegg broke, and instead of sending me a replacement camera, they sent me a refund. Go figure.

The headlights are TRUE DUAL reflector. The separator in the middle does NOT allow any light to pass through.

Fitment is pretty GOOD.

i'm 99% sure its plastic... not many manufacturers make headlights w/ glass lenses anymore.

These are the acekogyo lights. They are most likely the same thing.

Night time:

Beam pattern is not very good. From the factory the lights were aimed really low. Good thing there was an adjustment screw on the back so I raised them up. Unfortunately light output is not better than the stock 9004. There seems to be a hotspots in the beam pattern. Because of this, I say these are an ideal candidate for a projector retro.

I was getting ready to order a set until I saw the light output. Now I'm not sure. Would you say that the output is worse than stock?

From my recollection from memory, the stock lights outputed two bright globs of light on the ground.

The new lights output what seems to be 2 bright globs from each healight. The inner most bright glob from both headlights combines into one bright spot in the middle.

I haven't had a chance to drive around yet (downed several beers after finishing), so we'll see. My initial impression is that overall light ouput might be worse than stock, BECAUSE there are bright spots and everywhere in between doesn't seem to be lit up that well.

Copied from first page:

i dont have any retrofitting plans in my future rite now, so if the output isnt worse than stock or not MUCH worse than stock i dont think i would really mind getting them anyways.

Already in the plans

I can't take pics of the lights at the from the front. Camera phone sucks at taking night pictures. A side shot is the best it can do. A front angle shot just results in two big globs of light. Can't tell what anything is.
