I bought a white VE-5 for $700

169k and needs a clutch but since they are so hard to find these days, I rented a trailer and drove 100 miles to pick it up. I got in it in the garage and popped the trunk for the first time, and in there is the one part I have been looking for for about 15 years. Probably the rarest part Nissan ever made for these cars. Almost happier having it than the car itself.

It was officially an option. Any guesses?

Here's a hint: It was an optional accessory, not a factory part.

New 3rd gens? But no, keyless entry was standard on GXE's, technically not an option.

"VE-5" plus I said it was in the trunk, not under the hood.

That was part of a trim package. I should have specified optional accessory.

Optional accessory, but not factory? So, something only a dealer would have installed?

Genuine fitted cover. Always wanted one, never even seen pictures of one except for in the brochure. Not sure I have any practical use for it though. Keep one of my cars covered in the garage? I'll take it though.
