small update (pics)

its been awhile since I posted anything, and Ive taken a lot of pictures of the Maxima since then, just haven't really gotten too deep into any of my projects. Just been keeping the car clean. Driving it once a week or so. I bought a 2000 Pathfinder LE and have been driving/loving that ever since.

Unfortunately a lot of things have died on the Maxima in the last month or two.

The sunroof motor was extremely slow and sounded like it was struggling. stopped working altogether. which is OK because the whole sunroof needs to be replaced.

The mode door motor for the A/C was doing some loud creaking before it finally died, leaving everything in Defrost mode. Nice.

Also the seat belts stopped working after I used a bunk multimeter to test the battery. I know I can take it to the dealership. But I'd rather not. the less hands I can have on this car the better. I have the FSM and will figure it out as soon as I can.

The one thing I know for sure is that this car has seen a lot of sun. The dash is horribly cracked and needs to be replaced. all of the connectors behind the dash are very brittle and will just crumble in your hand.

I need to hit the junkyard BAD

anyway a couple pics

I like how the spoiler is still fully attached to the trunk lid.

Like your new plate. I used to have a custom plate on my old black car and want another on my turbo car but Texas has gone to that stupid myplates.com system and it's like $200 per year now.

Did you ever figure out why the car was so high in the front (or maybe so low on the rear) with the stock suspension?

I also like how the spoiler is fully attached. lol. it is an aftermarket stillen type II, dont know if you knew that…

I really wanted VE30DE for the plate, and the lady at the DMV looked it up and said I could have it. but when I got the plates it was one of my other 3 choices. I think it was my last choice actually, i wanted 3RD GEN too. but since it is a VE5…

as far as how it sits. I'm going to be ordering some lowering springs from Japan. Once I get around to tearing everything apart to install those I will get to figuring it out...

RS-R? I was thinking about buying them a year or so ago. Better watch out though, you're going to blow a lot of money after bank fees and shipping (assuming you have a person willing to buy and ship them for you). All for a virtually a non existent drop.

Not sure what the RS-R is. The springs I want to order are right around a 1.5inch drop. a little more than Eibach and a little less than the Intrax. They are Blue. Cant think of the brand off the top of my head but its not RS-R.

The only other feasible option is a "KING" spring out of Australia. However that would end up costing around $300 for just the 'eibach' style drop

I think the ones you're after are Espellir or something. Never really checked into those. 1.5" is decent.

Taken a lot of pictures? Is it still snowing in Iowa in May?

Car looks good. I see you found a set of JDM front signals. I think I have some still and if Hectic ever makes it over here I am going to give him all of my leftover parts for free. I don't even know what's in my garage.

I got a deal on 3 Gloss Black rims. they are powder coated. I just got my 4th one in the mail the other day, only I have to get this one powder coated to match. They are the 6 spoke 18" 350Z track editions.

Right now she's sitting on the I35 17s

this car is going to get the G37 projector/e36 hi beam retrofit some of you might have seen my thread on awhile back. and all my most rarest stuff of course.

thanks for the compliments!

James if you want a custom plate move to Iowa its like $25 a year. Cliff it was still pretty much winter here until a couple of weeks ago, but those pictures are older. Here are some current pics from today with the I35 wheels. I think the corners and grill look out of place with the stock headlights, but once i get another black retrofit in there it will all match across the front. I have 2 gold grills as well.

loving the wheels, looks cleaner with no tints. get to work on the headlights to match the front. as for the rubber under the lights; those things are expensive. i paid $100 i believe from Nissan earlier this year. dropping the suspension?

very nice Dmad, class, that stillen kit looks good in gold as well. I'll be dropping mine next month. I'll post pics then. Somethings telling me the kit may have to wait to next year. I have a Jetta MK3 that I need to finish up first.

rubber piece

Why buy a piece of rubber for $100 when u can easily get a similar piece of rubber from the j.y or from home depot? I used a piece from a Honda's window/door jamn and it looks exactly the same. When you have a high maintenance car, with hard to get parts and a tight budget, ingenuity becomes your best friend. Necessity truly is the mother of all invention.
